With this project, our client desired a Jimmy with a bit of an evolved style, and improved performance. So we took a technical-modern approach to the design details, and worked with him until it exceeded his expectations. We started in sketches, then moved into 3D renderings, and finally executed the plan over the course of about one year. The vehicle is a 1970 GMC Jimmy. We maintained the original chassis and body structure, and strengthened the chassis while improving the suspension, steering, powertrain, electrical systems and more.
The longer you look, the more custom changes you may notice. Some subtle, some not so subtle. Painted in a matte metallic charcoal gray, with brushed nickel plated trim.
Entirely redesigned dash, integrating a removable iPad and modern climate control system. All executed in aluminum, then nickel plated and brushed. LED map lights, modern gauges with enhanced reliability and functionality.
Our 4x4 instruction plate on the glove box door actually shows the truck shape (unlike the original which had the wrong vehicle shape!) and gives the user basic 4x4 instructions.
